March 3, 2024 - Third Sunday of Lent

Parish Announcements

From September 2023 to May 2024, the arm of Saint Jude Thaddeus, venerated in Rome from ancient times, will be on pilgrimage in the United States, making stops in 100 cities. One of the Church’s most beloved saints, Saint Jude, is the one to whom people turn when they are desperate and have tried everything else.  When things seem lost or unbearable, when they seem hopeless, Saint Jude is the one to whom people often turn.

The relic will be displayed for veneration at St. Catherine in Kennesaw on Monday, March 4th, from 2 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. with a special Holy Mass in honor of St. Jude at 7 p.m. For more information, visit St. Catherine’s website.

The Wednesday Holy Mass schedule changes during Lent. Holy Masses will be celebrated at 12 noon on Wednesdays. Exposition and Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament will follow Holy Mass and confessions will be heard during that time.

The Stations of the Cross will be prayed in the nave on Fridays, at 6:30 p.m., during Lent. A Lenten meal, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, will follow at 7 p.m. Baked or fried fish will be available as well as cheese quesadillas, cole slaw, mixed vegetables, French fries and hush puppies.

The confession schedule on Saturdays will be extended during Lent. Instead of the regularly scheduled time, confessions will be heard beginning at 1:30 p.m.

The Women’s Altar Rosary Guild will be hosting a Lenten Morning of Reflection on March 9th from  8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in St. Gerard Hall. Surrendering more deeply to the Lord and entering ever more deeply into the devotions of Holy Mother Church, particularly the Rosary, will be the topic of this year’s Lenten Morning of Reflection. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. All women are invited to join us. A sign-up sheet is posted in the narthex.

The Knights of Columbus will be selling tickets for their annual Golf Ball fundraiser following Holy Mass today. Tickets are $10 each.

The second collection today is for our parish Capital Improvement and Maintenance fund.

The Parish of St Vincent de Paul follows the Paulding County School Systems schedule. If Paulding County Schools are closed the parish office will also be closed, Holy Mass will not be celebrated at SVdP, and all parish activities will be canceled.

If the weather conditions require us to make a change in the Sunday Holy Mass schedule, including the vigil Holy Mass on Saturday, a message will be recorded on our phone system and a message will be posted on our website.
